Dr. Deepa Mishra Appointed as Director – People and Culture at Uplers

Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, December 2025 – Dr. Deepa Mishra has started a new role as Director – People and Culture at Uplers, strengthening the company’s leadership focus on culture, talent strategy, and organizational excellence. Based in Ahmedabad, she brings decades of experience across corporate HR leadership, centers of excellence, academia, and people transformation.

Prior to joining Uplers, Dr. Deepa Mishra most recently served at Welspun World, where she spent over seven years in progressively senior roles within the Centre of Excellence for Talent, Culture, Learning, and Employer Branding. Her journey at Welspun included leadership roles such as Group DGM – CoE Talent, Culture & Employer Branding, Group AGM – CoE, Group Senior Manager, and Group Manager – Learning, Culture & Employer Branding, as well as Head / Lead – Excellence Centre. Across these roles, she was instrumental in shaping performance management frameworks, talent strategy, organizational capability building, academies, and employer branding initiatives at group level.

Before Welspun, Dr. Mishra worked as Human Resources Business Partner (Project) at JM Baxi Group, followed by her role as Terminal HR Head at Vopak, where she handled comprehensive HR operations, employee relations, labor relations, policy development, and regulatory compliance in complex operational environments.

Her earlier career includes a significant academic stint as Assistant Professor at Tolani Motwane Institute of Management Studies, along with corporate HR roles at Genus Electrotech Limited as HR Business Partner. She also brings early leadership exposure from development-sector assignments with Population Services International and the Gujarat State AIDS Control Society, adding a strong societal and stakeholder-oriented perspective to her people leadership approach.

In addition to her role at Uplers, Dr. Deepa Mishra has also taken on the position of Director – People and Culture at Mavlers, further reflecting her growing leadership footprint in people and culture roles.
