Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India – October 5, 2024 – Dr. GP Rao, Founder and Managing Partner of GPR HR Consulting LLP, was bestowed with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by PNGI at a ceremony held at Sharda University. The award was presented by Dr. Kapil Pandla, Professor and Dean, Sharda University, and Mr. Ratan Agrawal, Chairman, PNGI, in the presence of esteemed HR luminaries such as Dr. Pradyumna Pandey and Mr. DK Bakshi. This honor recognizes Dr. Rao’s exceptional contribution to the field of human resources and his visionary leadership over several decades.
Dr. GP Rao has an illustrious career spanning more than 47 years, with a diverse range of leadership roles. Since 2014, he has been the Founder & Managing Partner of GPR HR Consulting LLP (Good People Relations), based in New Delhi. His consulting firm focuses on Business Excellence, Capability Development, and Synergy Creation through collaboration and motivational sessions.
Prior to founding his own firm, Dr. Rao held the position of Chief-HR & Management Services at Recron Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a member of Reliance Group, for nearly six years. His responsibilities included overseeing human resources and management services for a polyester and textiles company with headquarters in Kuala Lumpur and manufacturing plants in Nilai and Melaka.
Before his role in Malaysia, he served as Sr. Vice President-HR at Reliance Industries Ltd for almost two years, heading HR for the Aromatics, FID, and Polyester sectors.
Dr. Rao’s experience also includes being the Vice President-HR at JK Tyre & Industries Ltd for over three years, where he was responsible for managing HR operations across multiple plants and a large marketing network.
Earlier in his career, he held senior HR positions at Birla VXL Limited, JK Paper Limited, JK Corp Ltd, and Steel Authority of India Ltd, showcasing his vast experience in the industrial and manufacturing sectors.
