South Africa, Botswana, September 2025 – Skybound Industries (SKBI) has appointed Dylan Govender as its new Chief Marketing & Technology Officer (CMTO). In this strategic leadership role, Dylan will drive the integration of marketing innovation and advanced technology solutions to strengthen SKBI’s presence across the aerospace, defense, security, and medical sectors. His mandate includes accelerating digital transformation, enhancing brand positioning, and spearheading world-class technology initiatives that reinforce SKBI’s market leadership.
Dylan brings a wealth of experience spanning nearly three decades across banking, financial services, technology, and transportation. Since 2023, he has served as Chief Technology Advisor to the Financial Services Working Group (FSWG) under the BRICS Business Council, where he has played an instrumental role in advancing fintech and digital transformation strategies aimed at financial inclusion across BRICS nations.
Previously, Dylan was Managing Director at Lion Technology, a multinational specializing in Intelligent Transport Systems. In this capacity, he oversaw strategic initiatives in sales, business expansion, and technology-enabled operations across six countries, leading efforts in transit ticketing and fare collection systems to reshape the global passenger experience.
Earlier Dylan served as Director at Truevine Technology, an emerging IT services provider in South Africa, where he led IT consulting, resource augmentation, and digital transformation projects. He built hybrid resourcing models and forged partnerships with fintech and core banking solution providers, enabling clients to achieve efficiency and scale through technology.
Earlier, Dylan built an extensive career at Nedbank, where he spent more than 25 years in progressively senior roles. As Head of Executive QA for Corporate and Investment Banking Projects, he managed multiple business areas, global vendor relationships, and enterprise-wide transformation initiatives. His leadership in quality assurance, programme delivery, and automation technologies ensured enhanced client value and operational excellence across banking clusters. He began his career at Nedbank as a Retail Banker and Teller, progressing through roles in personal banking, testing, and project management before rising into executive leadership.
