Nairobi, Kenya, September 2025 – Transnep Insurance Brokers Ltd has announced the appointment of Edwin Macharia as its new Chief Operations Officer (COO). With more than 18 years of experience in the healthcare and insurance broking sectors, Macharia brings a wealth of expertise in strategy, leadership, business growth, and operational excellence to the firm. His appointment marks a pivotal step as Transnep positions itself for its next phase of expansion and client service excellence.
Before joining Transnep, Macharia most recently served as the General Manager – Healthcare at Minet Kenya, where he spent close to eight years shaping healthcare solutions and driving business growth. In this role, he demonstrated leadership in customer experience, marketing, and executive management, helping position Minet as a leading player in the healthcare and insurance space.
Earlier, he built his career at Aon Kenya, where he spent over eight years in progressive leadership roles. Beginning as a Senior Account Executive, he advanced through positions including Assistant Business Development Manager, Business Development Manager, and ultimately Associate General Manager. During this tenure, he honed his expertise in marketing, account management, customer experience, and healthcare solutions.
In addition to his corporate career, Macharia has recently taken on a role as a Strategic Business Advisor, lending his expertise in business strategy to organizations across Kenya. His ability to align operations with growth strategies continues to set him apart as a forward-thinking leader in the insurance sector.
Complementing his professional journey, Macharia has also invested in his academic growth. He is completing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management at Strathmore University, further strengthening his leadership and strategic acumen.
