Wilmington, Delaware, USA, July 2024 – Emily Curtis will be joining Directional Capital as their new Chief People Officer, effective 15th July. With a robust background in human resources and organizational development, Emily brings extensive experience to her new role, where she will focus on enhancing the firm’s people strategy and organizational culture.
Emily Curtis has been with Pizza Hut UK & Europe for approximately 3 years and 3 months. In her role as Head of People Operations and Social Purpose (UK, Ireland & France), she leads the field people operations team, managing training, development, HR systems, and people processes for over 11,000 team members. She also drives the Social Purpose strategy “An Equal Slice for Everyone,” securing over $2m in global funding.
Prior to this, Emily served as Head of Restaurant Capability (UK, Ireland & France) for about 5 months, where she led franchise capability agendas, enhanced team member experiences, and owned the design and creation of training programs for restaurant and above-store teams. Before that, she was the Head of Restaurant Capability (Europe) for approximately 8 months, covering 20+ European markets, designing new franchisee onboarding frameworks, and partnering with HR leaders to embed global people standards.
Emily also worked as the UK Market Culture & Capability Business Partner at Pizza Hut for about 1 year and 4 months, leading the UK people strategy, launching new learning technologies, and designing recruitment and retention strategies post-Covid.
Before joining Pizza Hut, Emily was with Starbucks for around 3 years and 3 months, holding roles such as Franchise Head of People, Queensway Group, and Franchise People Manager, Queensway Group. At Starbucks, she implemented people strategies, engagement platforms, and digitalized eLearning systems.
Her early career includes roles at Sainsbury’s as UK Supply & Distribution HRBP for approximately 2 years and 10 months, Amazon as EMEA HRBP for about 10 months, and Phones 4u as North Senior Employer Relations Advisor for around 2 years and 7 months.
Emily’s career began with various HR roles at Carphone Warehouse, 3M, and the NHS, accumulating over 6 years of experience in HR resourcing, advisory, and consultancy.
