Reading, England, United Kingdom, March 2025 – Emma Thompson has been appointed as Director of People and Culture at De Vere, bringing a wealth of experience in HR leadership, employee engagement, and strategic workforce development. In her new role, she will be responsible for driving people strategies, enhancing workplace culture, and overseeing HR initiatives across the company’s hospitality portfolio.
Prior to joining De Vere, Thompson served as Human Resources Business Partner at The Nurture Landscapes Group, where she played a key role in HR policies, employee relations, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational change management for over three years. She led strategic HR projects and workforce integration efforts during significant business transitions.
Before that, she was HR Manager at Michels and Taylor Hotels, where she managed talent acquisition, payroll, and employee engagement programs. She also held a prior role at De Vere as HR and Training Manager, focusing on leadership development, training delivery, and culture enhancement within the hotel group.
Earlier in her career, Thompson gained extensive experience in learning and development, training, and HR resourcing at HIT Training, John Lewis Partnership, McDonald’s, and Reading College. Her background in both hospitality and corporate HR management makes her well-positioned to lead people and culture initiatives at De Vere, strengthening its employer brand and workforce experience.
