Texas, United States, November 2025 — HWL has announced the appointment of Erich Miguel Castroman as its new Vice President of Business Development, marking an important leadership addition as the organisation accelerates growth within the healthcare workforce solutions ecosystem. In this strategic role, Erich will lead national business development efforts, drive MSP/VMS sales to healthcare organisations, strengthen client acquisition, manage revenue pipelines, and build long-term partnerships to support HWL’s expanding footprint across the United States.

Erich joins HWL after his impactful tenure as a Partner at Doximity, the leading digital platform for U.S. medical professionals. At Doximity, he worked closely with hospitals, health systems, and physician networks to enable digital workforce solutions, full-service placement models, and advanced clinician engagement tools. His role contributed significantly to expanding Doximity Talent Solutions, a product suite that serves over 80% of U.S. physicians—cementing his credibility in healthcare recruitment, digital health, and clinical workforce strategy.

Prior to Doximity, Erich spent several successful years at AMN Healthcare Physicians, where he served as Director of Business Development. During this time, he led strategic initiatives across healthcare staffing, talent delivery, customer engagement, and operational strategy. His earlier role as Executive Business Development Lead at StaffCare (AMN Healthcare) further strengthened his expertise in physician recruitment, cost-containment solutions, and advisory support for hospitals and health systems navigating workforce shortages.

Earlier in his career, Erich served as Regional VP of Marketing at Merritt Hawkins, one of the most respected brands in physician recruitment. In this role, he partnered closely with healthcare executives, physician groups, and clinical leaders to deliver recruitment and retention solutions, manage engagement processes, and ensure exceptional client experience from consultation to placement. His responsibilities also included leading initiatives that improved customer success, communication, and strategic workforce planning.

Erich’s foundation in the healthcare staffing and workforce solutions industry was built during his remarkable 15+ years at VISTA Staffing Solutions, where he served as Territory Manager and Sales Team Leader. He consistently grew sales territories, earned multiple President’s Club Awards, managed psychiatry recruitment functions, and oversaw East Coast business development. His early professional experience includes roles with American Express Business Travel and American Express Centurion Bank, where he strengthened his capabilities in client service, account management, and operational excellence. His service as a missionary in Greece further shaped his values in service, discipline, and community engagement.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
