Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, March 2025 – Gareth Russell has been appointed as Interim Chief People Officer at WiseTech Global, where he will lead the company’s people and culture strategy to support WiseTech’s continued growth and innovation in global logistics technology.
Prior to joining WiseTech Global, Gareth Russell was the Chief People Officer at Hudson, where he spent over four years leading a comprehensive organizational transformation, including workforce strategy, HR system modernization, and compliance initiatives across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.
Before Hudson, he served as General Manager, Human Resources – Retail Banking Services at Commonwealth Bank, where he led HR strategy for digital transformation, managed regulatory compliance efforts during the Banking Royal Commission, and played a key role in M&A transactions, including the launch of Beem It, a joint venture between CBA, NAB, and Westpac.
Earlier in his career, Gareth held leadership positions at News Corp Australia, where he scaled the Digital Product & Operations team from 20 to 300 employees, and Perpetual Limited, where he oversaw HR aspects of IT outsourcing and M&A integration. He has also worked with Clayton Utz and Ernst & Young in senior HR consulting and advisory roles.
