Singapore, October 2025 — Google has appointed Gaurav Bhaskar as Senior Director, Global Communications and Public Affairs, APAC. Based in Singapore, Gaurav will be responsible for driving the company’s strategic communications and public affairs initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region, reinforcing Google’s commitment to impactful narratives and policy leadership.
Gaurav brings with him over 20 years of experience across corporate communications, public affairs, and brand strategy. Most recently, he served as Senior Director, Corporate Communications & Public Affairs for India, Southeast Asia, and South Asia at Google, where his leadership was instrumental in shaping strategic narratives, managing media relations, and navigating complex policy landscapes across diverse markets.
Before this, Gaurav had an extensive tenure at Google India, where he held multiple leadership roles over 13 years, including Director, Corporate Communications & Public Affairs and Global Communications & Public Affairs Manager. His contributions strengthened Google’s reputation in India and South Asia, enabling the company to build long-term trust and thought leadership with stakeholders.
Earlier in his career, Gaurav served as Head of Corporate Communications at Rediff.com, where he led communications strategies aligned with business objectives and brand growth. Prior to that, he was Deputy General Manager at Vaishnavi Corporate Communications Pvt. Ltd., managing clients such as Tata Indicom, Tata Communications, eBay India, and Sun Microsystems, where he focused on policy-sensitive communications and crisis management.
His professional journey also includes leadership roles at Genesis Burson Marsteller and Perfect Relations, where he worked with clients such as IBM, Apple, GAIL, and NCR Corp. Additionally, his early career roles at Syscon Infotech Pvt. Ltd., Opel Technologies, and IndiaMART InterMESH Limited gave him a unique perspective on business development, operations, and communications. This diverse background has equipped him with a holistic understanding of both communications and business growth.
With this appointment, Google strengthens its leadership in APAC, focusing on impactful communications and public affairs strategies that align with its mission of building products and solutions that create opportunities for everyone.
