Genesis Motor America Appoints Amy Marentic as Chief Marketing Officer

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, California, United States, March 2025 — Genesis Motor America has named Amy Marentic as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). In this role, Marentic will oversee all Genesis marketing strategy and activities across the United States, driving brand awareness, sales growth, and market share expansion. She will report to Tedros Mengiste, Chief Operating Officer of Genesis Motor North America.

“Amy has a proven track record of driving transformation and growth in her experience leading marketing initiatives in automotive, mobility, and technology sectors,” said Mengiste. “As we continue on our path of rapid growth, I look forward to working with Amy to strengthen our brand’s visibility across every consumer touchpoint and welcome more customers to the Genesis family.”

As CMO, Marentic will be responsible for leading the United States marketing division in the development, implementation, and management of marketing strategies aimed at consumers. She will oversee national and regional advertising, multicultural marketing, experiential and digital campaigns, CRM, and the brand’s online presence. Additionally, she will support Genesis’ expanding network of standalone retail facilities through localized marketing efforts.

Marentic joins Genesis with over 25 years of global automotive and mobility experience, excelling in marketing, sales, product and brand strategy, and digital transformation. Most recently, as President, Global Solutions at Circana, she collaborated with global advertisers, agencies, and platforms to optimize media and trade spend, resulting in exceeded revenue growth and improved return on investment.

Previously, Marentic served as Global Automotive Director at Google, where she supported and accelerated the brand’s digital transformation, driving billions in ad revenue growth. Prior to her tenure at Google, she spent over 25 years at Ford Motor Company, where she held multiple leadership roles, including General Manager for the Ford Icons business—encompassing the Bronco, Mustang, and Raptor brands—and President of Lincoln Asia Pacific. Her work has been widely recognized for excellence in product development and marketing innovation.

Marentic holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and a Master’s degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
