Bristol, United Kingdom, December 2025 — Pennon Group Plc has appointed Gorse Mitchell as Head of People, strengthening its leadership team as the Group continues to advance its people-first transformation agenda across its water and environmental infrastructure businesses.
In her new role, Gorse Mitchell will lead Pennon’s people strategy, culture transformation, workforce capability building, leadership development, and organisational effectiveness initiatives, supporting the Group’s long-term sustainability, ESG commitments, and operational excellence across its multi-utility operations in the United Kingdom.
Prior to joining Pennon, Gorse Mitchell served as Human Resources Consultant at Viridor, where she partnered with senior leadership to deliver people strategy, HR transformation, workforce planning, and ESG-aligned organisational development initiatives supporting large-scale environmental and recycling operations.
She has also contributed as a Board Member (pro bono) at Mighty Girls CIC, supporting governance, funding strategy, brand building, and cultural development for programmes focused on empowering young women and addressing social inequality across communities in the United Kingdom.
Earlier, Gorse Mitchell held the role of People Director – Global (US) at Ultromics, where she led global people strategy, talent attraction, leadership development, employee engagement, and organisational capability building for a high-growth AI-led medical technology company.
Her leadership journey further includes senior HR roles at Newbury Building Society, Triodos Bank, Bellpenny, Nationwide Building Society, Nomura, Lehman Brothers, and Lloyds Banking Group, building deep expertise in financial services, ESG governance, people transformation, and global talent strategy.
