New York City, New York, United States, June 2025 — Govind Iyer has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of The Rockefeller Foundation, one of the world’s oldest and most respected philanthropic institutions. With over four decades of experience across global business, leadership advisory, and social impact, Iyer brings a rich and diverse perspective to the Foundation’s mission to advance the well-being of humanity.
In accepting this appointment, Iyer expressed his deep respect for the Foundation’s legacy, stating, “Thank you to The Rockefeller Foundation for the privilege to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Foundation—a global pioneering institution that has, for over 112 years, led transformative work to advance the well-being of humanity through bold, systems-level solutions across food, health, energy and finance.”
Iyer particularly lauded the Foundation’s impact in India and the Asia-Pacific region, noting the urgency and promise for driving large-scale, sustainable transformation. He also highlighted the importance of strategic philanthropy, adding, “Strategic giving is not about giving back, but giving forward. And in this role, I hope to be able to do just that and serve with purpose, integrity and global perspective.”
Currently, Govind Iyer serves on the Board of Directors at Social Venture Partners International, is a Senior Advisor to Warburg Pincus, an Independent Director at Infosys and Karmayogi Bharat, and Chairperson of SVP India. He also previously served on the board of Give, and spent over two decades as a consultant with Egon Zehnder, after holding senior marketing positions at HJ Heinz, The Coca-Cola Company, and Procter & Gamble.
