Duncan & Toplis, a distinguished accounting and business advisory firm in the East Midlands, promotes Heidi Thompson to the position of Chief People Officer.
With a rich history of over 28 years in human resources, Thompson brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role, where she will continue to drive the firm’s HR strategy forward.
This promotion marks a significant milestone in Thompson’s extensive career in human resources and acknowledges her contributions to the company over the past six years and four months.
Since joining Duncan & Toplis in January 2018, Thompson has played a pivotal role in the firm’s HR department, initially serving as HR Director before taking on the additional responsibilities of Head of Payroll and HR Services. During her tenure, she has been instrumental in managing and delivering professional HR services both within the practice across its 11 locations and externally to clients. Her expertise in contracts of employment, employee handbooks, disciplinary and grievance procedures, recruitment and selection, redundancy consultations, and more, has been invaluable in assisting clients in managing routine and complex employee-related issues.
Before her tenure at Duncan & Toplis, Thompson enriched her HR experience at International Workplace, where she served as Head of Learning and Development, and as an HR Consultant. Her journey in HR also includes significant roles at NorthgateArinso and Advantica, contributing to her deep understanding of various HR functions and challenges.
Thompson’s early career began with foundational roles at Leicester General Hospital and the Leicestershire Health Authority, where she first honed her skills in human resources. Her progression through various HR roles over the years demonstrates a dedicated commitment to professional development and leadership in the field.
