New York, United States, February 2025 – Herb Alexander has taken on the role of Interim Chief People Officer at Centralus Health, where he will oversee leadership development, talent management, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness. With a focus on strengthening HR operations, employee experience, and DE&I initiatives, Herb aims to create a thriving workplace culture that aligns with Centralus Health’s mission of delivering innovative healthcare solutions.
Before joining Centralus Health, Herb served as AVP, People & Culture and Chief Diversity Officer at Cayuga Health System, where he was responsible for HR service delivery, employee experience, DE&I strategy, and leadership development. His tenure saw significant improvements in employee engagement, workforce retention, and cultural transformation within the healthcare organization.
Prior to that, he held multiple leadership roles at Roberts Wesleyan College, including Associate Dean of Students and Chief Diversity Officer, where he spearheaded diversity and inclusion initiatives, developed student engagement programs, and led the college’s efforts to foster an inclusive and supportive environment for underrepresented students.
Herb also spent over six years at Cayuga Health System in various leadership capacities, including Chief Diversity & Learning Officer, where he played a key role in succession planning, workforce development, and integrating DE&I strategies into the organization’s core functions. His strategic leadership and focus on cultural transformation helped advance employee engagement and operational efficiency across multiple departments.
Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Roberts Wesleyan College, where he successfully implemented multicultural recruitment strategies, diversity workshops, and student development programs, leading to improved student engagement and academic success.
