Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, May 2024 – Irene Prakash is promoted to National Director, Human Resources at McDonald’s. Irene is excited to contribute to the continued success of the organization and enhance its HR strategies.
Irene Prakash has been a dedicated member of McDonald’s for over 26 years. She began her journey at McDonald’s in May 1998 and has held various positions, culminating in her recent promotion to National Director, Human Resources.
From November 2021 to April 2024, Irene served as the Regional Strategy & Initiatives Manager in Burnaby. In this role, she was responsible for driving McDonald’s growth through strategic initiatives, leveraging market analysis and cross-functional collaboration. She led product innovation, optimized operational efficiency, and ensured the seamless execution of strategic plans.
Prior to that, Irene was the Operations Manager from January 2018 to November 2021. She reinforced leadership behaviors and people management standards, ensuring the implementation of individual development plans and diversity staffing objectives. Irene developed and trained McOpCo teams, recognized and rewarded their achievements, and ensured that restaurants met QSC, safety, and sanitation standards.
Irene started at McDonald’s as a Business Consultant in April 2015 and held the position until December 2017. She consulted with Owner/Operators to optimize sales, QSC, profit, and people development, maximizing business potential. She also organized and conducted annual Owner/Operator Business Meetings and assisted Owner/Operators in developing and executing reinvestment plans.
From August 2014 to April 2015, Irene served as the Deployment Consultant. She led the regional implementation of Plan to Win strategies and nationally sponsored innovations, measuring execution against targets and taking appropriate action.
As an Operations Consultant from April 2012 to July 2014, Irene provided leadership, coaching, and direction to assigned restaurants to maximize sales and profit potential. She built positive relationships with Restaurant Managers and the Restaurant Leadership Team, ensuring adequate staffing and reduced turnover in restaurants.
From December 2007 to April 2012, Irene was a Human Resources Consultant. She provided leadership and support to the Operations team, Regional Staff, and Owner/Operators on HR systems and strategies to drive business results. She participated in developing and implementing Regional HR strategies, collaborated with Operations, Training, and Accounting, and advised on HR programs.
In her early career, Irene held various roles in restaurant management, starting in May 1998 and serving until December 2007. She provided overall leadership to maximize people, sales, and profit potential, developing and reinforcing leadership behaviors to gain commitment from the Management Team, Operations Team, and staff.
