San Mateo, California, United States, December 2025 — Jacob Sung has started a new role as the Chief Technology Officer at Wavvest, a fast-growing AI-driven wealth management technology platform. In this strategic leadership role, he will drive the next phase of Wavvest’s acceleration by building the unified operating system that empowers wealth advisory firms to scale efficiently. Joining at the company’s inflection point, he will focus on execution at scale, strengthening engineering systems, and shaping Wavvest’s agentic-AI powered architecture that reimagines how RIAs operate.
Before joining Wavvest, Jacob Sung served as VP of Engineering at Sootchy, Inc., where he led both product and engineering teams to build secure, scalable, and user-focused financial technology aimed at expanding education access. His leadership drove the creation of employer-sponsored 529 programs, advanced integrations with payroll systems, and modernization of the company’s cloud and AI-driven development capabilities. He played a decisive role in enhancing platform performance and designing financial tools supporting underserved communities.
Prior to Sootchy, Jacob was the VP of Engineering at Alto, where he helped scale a self-directed IRA platform enabling investments in alternative assets and digital currencies. He transformed engineering, QA, and DevOps teams, built cloud-ready fintech systems, and collaborated with product, security, and compliance leaders to deliver high-availability wealth management infrastructure. His work laid the technological foundations for secure crypto-enabled investing experiences.
Earlier in his journey, Jacob held senior engineering leadership positions at Coupa Software, Envestnet, and Harvest Savings & Wealth Technologies. Across these roles, he directed development of large-scale SaaS platforms, built digital wealth systems for national advisory networks, and led microservices, compliance automation, global invoicing infrastructure, and embedded finance initiatives. His work consistently focused on secure architecture, regulatory compliance, and scalable cloud systems powering financial ecosystems.
Jacob began his career in engineering and architecture roles at FIS, mFoundry, CA Technologies, and MarketTools, where he strengthened his foundation in application architecture, digital banking systems, mobile payments, security frameworks, and enterprise cloud environments. Over two decades, he evolved from hands-on engineering leadership into a seasoned technology strategist shaping next-generation fintech platforms across wealth management, banking, and digital assets.
