Baltimore, Maryland, United States, February 2025 – Jacquise D. Payton has joined the Maryland Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services as the Deputy Chief Human Resource Officer for Recruitment and Pre-Employment Services. In this role, she will lead the department’s efforts in talent acquisition, workforce planning, and HR compliance, ensuring operational excellence in hiring and recruitment strategies.
With over a decade of experience in human resources, talent management, and strategic HR planning, Jacquise has held key roles in government and corporate sectors. Prior to joining Maryland DPSCS, she served as the OHR-Policy, Procedure, and Business Process HR Administrator at Maryland Department of Health, where she spearheaded strategic HR initiatives, policy implementations, and compliance programs. She also played a significant role in workforce development as a Senior Human Resources Analyst at the City of Alexandria, Virginia, overseeing HR functions across multiple government divisions.
Her career includes leadership positions at Target, CVS Health, and various public service organizations, where she has led workforce transformation projects, employee engagement programs, and HR policy innovations. Jacquise is recognized for her expertise in strategic human resource planning, business process improvement, and employee relations, contributing significantly to HR modernization and operational efficiency.
At Maryland DPSCS, she will drive recruitment strategies, enhance pre-employment services, and support the department’s mission of strengthening public safety through an efficient and well-equipped workforce.
