Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, September 2025 — Jairam Sridharan has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Piramal Finance, after serving as its Managing Director since 2021 and earlier as CEO of Piramal Consumer Finance. His leadership has been central to the company’s transformation and expansion in retail lending, particularly following the acquisition and integration of DHFL.
With a career spanning over two decades across global and Indian financial institutions, Jairam brings deep expertise in scaling consumer businesses, digital lending, and strategic growth across banking and insurance. His new role underscores Piramal Finance’s commitment to advancing its retail lending leadership and driving innovation in financial services.
At Axis Bank, Jairam played a pivotal role as Chief Financial Officer and President – Retail Lending & Payments, contributing significantly to building large-scale retail franchises. Prior to that, he spent seven years at Capital One in the US in senior leadership roles, honing his expertise in consumer lending. He began his career with ICICI Bank and Standard Chartered Bank, focusing on business intelligence and analytics.
Beyond his executive role, Jairam contributes to the financial services ecosystem as Chairman of the Board at Pramerica Life Insurance, Board Member at Fibe.India (formerly EarlySalary), and Advisory Board Member at the Plaksha Technology Leaders Program. These positions reflect his wide-ranging influence across banking, insurance, fintech, and education.
