Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, December 2024 – Jalaj Gupta, an accomplished leader in the automotive sector and a proud alumnus of IMT Ghaziabad, Batch of 1995, has taken on the role of Managing Director at TI Clean Mobility, part of the Murugappa Group. Jalaj will oversee the strategic direction and operations of the organization, focusing on advancing eco-friendly mobility solutions in the Indian and global markets.
Jalaj joins TI Clean Mobility following a successful tenure at Mahindra Group, where he served as Business Head – Commercial Vehicles for over four years. He was responsible for the P&L of Mahindra Truck & Bus and Construction Equipment businesses, leading end-to-end functions, including product development, sales, marketing, and aftersales.
Before Mahindra, Jalaj was with Ashok Leyland for nearly a decade, where he held key roles including Head of LCV Business. Notably, he established the LCV division from scratch, growing it to contribute 40% of the company’s overall numbers. Other impactful roles included Head of Sales – Global Buses and Head of Sales and Marketing for LCV Business, where he oversaw sales, marketing, and logistics nationwide.
His foundational years were at Tata Motors, where he built a strong reputation across various roles over 11 years. From managing product marketing for iconic models like Tata Indica and Tata Indigo to heading regional operations in both North and East India, Jalaj demonstrated expertise in sales, market development, and brand management.
