Greater London, England, United Kingdom, June 2024 – Jamie Hughes has been named Head of HR, Europe at Sotheby’s, stepping into his new role this month. With extensive experience in human resources, Jamie is well-positioned to lead HR initiatives across Europe for Sotheby’s, ensuring the company’s continued growth and success in the region.
Jamie has been with Sotheby’s for nearly five years, showcasing a remarkable career progression. Before his current role, he served as the VP, HR & Reward Business Partner for over two years, where he was responsible for aligning HR strategies with business goals and managing reward programs. Prior to that, he was the HR and Reward Business Partner for nearly two years, focusing on enhancing employee engagement and retention through effective reward systems.
Earlier, Jamie held the position of HR Business Partner at Sotheby’s, where he played a key role in driving HR initiatives and supporting organizational change. His commitment to excellence and deep understanding of HR practices have significantly contributed to the company’s success.
Before joining Sotheby’s, Jamie worked as a Regional Human Resources Business Partner at Parker Building Supplies Ltd for seven months. In this role, he managed HR operations across multiple regions, ensuring compliance and fostering a positive work environment.
Jamie also spent over five years at Liberty Living, where he advanced from HR & Benefits Advisor to HR Manager. During his tenure, he implemented HR policies, managed employee relations, and developed benefits programs that improved overall employee satisfaction.
Jamie began his career in HR with roles as an HR Assistant at both the Royal Grammar School High Wycombe and Nviro Limited. These early experiences provided him with a strong foundation in HR practices and processes.
