New York, United States, February 2026 — Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC), announced the appointment of Katasha Harley as Chief Human Resources Officer. Reporting to Executive Director Greg Scholl, Ms. Harley will lead Jazz at Lincoln Center’s people and culture strategy, working alongside Managing and Artistic Director Wynton Marsalis, Board of Directors, senior leadership, and staff to support the organization’s artistic mission, organizational excellence, and long-term sustainability.
A native New Yorker and lifelong jazz enthusiast, Ms. Harley brings more than 20 years of senior leadership experience across media, entertainment, and mission-driven organizations. Her career reflects a deep understanding of creative industries and a longstanding commitment to cultivating inclusive, high-performing workplaces.
“Katasha is soulful. The trajectory of her career indicates a deep concern for all walks of life and for the sanctity of community,” said Mr. Marsalis. “She brings a rare combination of strategic leadership, cultural integrity, and a creative way of handling her business. Jazz is collaboration, constant virtuosity, and humanity.” He continued, “Katasha understands how to build environments where people can thrive and produce their best work. We are thrilled to welcome her to Jazz at Lincoln Center.”
“Katasha is a thoughtful and strategic leader with extensive experience navigating complex, creative organizations,” said Mr. Scholl. “Her background in media, entertainment, and nonprofit environments, combined with her commitment to people-centered leadership, will be important as we continue to evolve and grow.”
Ms. Harley most recently served as Chief Talent Officer at McCann New York within the Interpublic Group network. Her previous roles include senior HR leadership positions at The New York Times, Time Inc., L’Oréal USA, and Elizabeth Arden, with responsibility for workforces ranging from hundreds to tens of thousands of employees. In addition to her corporate leadership, Ms. Harley is an advisor in wellness and workforce well-being, with a focus on aligning people-practices with purpose, creativity, and care.
Ms. Harley attended the music program at Bayside High School in Queens, New York, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hampton University. Her human resources career began at Time Inc. following the completion of her Master of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from New York University. She is also a member of the Society of Human Resource Management, grounding her work in both rigorous behavioral science and real-world organizational leadership.
“Jazz at Lincoln Center is a cultural institution that represents the very best of our society – creativity, discipline, and soul,” said Ms. Harley. “It is an honor to join an organization whose mission celebrates both artistic excellence and human connection. I look forward to partnering with the Board, leadership, and staff to build a people-centered culture that supports the artists and teams who bring this mission to life every day. In many ways, this feels full circle, as I was at Time Warner as Jazz at Lincoln Center’s home was being built.”
In her role, Ms. Harley will work closely with the Board of Directors, including the Artistic Leadership Transition, Executive Director Search, and the People Committees, to advance Jazz at Lincoln Center’s talent strategy. She will also work to strengthen organizational and operational effectiveness and support the evolving needs of a modern performing arts institution.
Ms. Harley resides in the greater New York metropolitan area with her family. Outside of work, she sings in a choir, practices yoga, attends live performances and tries to create as many quality moments as possible with her family.
