Cairo, Egypt, December 2024 – Jean Patrick Habyarimana has been named Director, Human Resources (Learning & Performance) at African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank). In his new capacity, Jean Patrick will lead strategic initiatives in learning, performance, and talent development to enhance the organization’s capabilities in fostering intra- and extra-African trade.
Jean Patrick has a long-standing career with Afreximbank, spanning over a decade. Prior to his new appointment, he served as Senior Manager, HR (Learning & Performance), where he drove impactful learning programs and organizational performance strategies. Before that, he held the role of Human Resource Manager – Talent Management, leading initiatives that supported the Bank’s growth and talent alignment with business goals.
Before joining Afreximbank, Jean Patrick worked as Human Resources Manager at Bank of Kigali Limited, where he managed HR functions during a period of substantial organizational growth. Earlier, he served as Rwanda Human Resources Manager for British American Tobacco, where he played a pivotal role in recruitment, organizational development, and industrial relations across Rwanda and Burundi. He also contributed to shaping the HR profession in Rwanda as Executive Secretary General for the Rwanda Human Resources Association.
