Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India – November 2024 – Jeeva Balakrishnan has recently joined Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Limited (Chola) as its new Chief Human Resources Officer. With a strong background in HR leadership, Jeeva is set to guide Chola’s people strategy aligned with its vision to empower lives through financial growth and well-being.
Prior to joining Chola, Jeeva served as SVP & Chief Talent Officer at Reliance Retail, where he played a key role in transforming the talent landscape. His initiatives included creating a talent marketplace, fostering a coaching culture, and facilitating high-performance, employee-centric, and inclusive workplaces. Over his nearly decade-long tenure at Reliance, Jeeva also led HR for Reliance Market’s Cash and Carry Grocery business, handling business growth, restructuring, and B2B and B2C verticals.
Jeeva’s HR expertise further extended to Reliance Digital (CDIT), where he managed HR, Learning & Development, and Customer Experience functions. During his role, he contributed to the business’s rapid expansion, implementing people transformation strategies that positively impacted both employee and customer experiences.
Previously, Jeeva was the Head of Business HR for Raymond Limited’s Lifestyle Business, overseeing HR across apparel and textile divisions and contributing to key brands like ColorPlus, Park Avenue, and Parx. His role involved enhancing the HR strategy, organizational restructuring, and aligning talent development to meet business demands.
