Jennifer Ashton appointed as People, Culture & BT Group Inclusion Director at BT Group

London, United Kingdom, January 2026 — Jennifer Ashton has taken on the role of People, Culture & BT Group Inclusion Director at BT Group, marking a significant leadership appointment within the organisation’s people and inclusion agenda.

In her current role at BT Group, Jennifer Ashton is responsible for shaping enterprise-wide people, culture, and inclusion strategies, strengthening organisational capability and ensuring that inclusive leadership remains central to the Group’s transformation journey.

Prior to this appointment, she served as People & Culture Director – Consumer Corporate Functions at BT Group, where she partnered closely with senior leaders across consumer-facing businesses, including EE Limited and PlusNet. In this role, she worked alongside the CMO, CPO, and CFO, supporting strategic workforce planning, leadership effectiveness, and people transformation initiatives across complex, customer-centric functions.

Earlier at BT Group, Jennifer Ashton held the position of HR Director – Group Corporate Functions, directly partnering with ExCo members across Legal, Corporate Affairs, and HR. Joining initially on a maternity cover, she played a key role in strengthening governance, organisational design, and senior stakeholder engagement within critical group functions.

Before BT Group, she held senior global people leadership roles at Hydrow and EditShare, where she built and scaled people functions for high-growth, international organisations. Her work included executive coaching, workforce planning, global expansion, and the design of robust HR operating models, with a strong emphasis on equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Earlier in her career, Jennifer Ashton built deep HR expertise through leadership roles at BBC, Amazon, Sainsbury’s, and Tesco, gaining extensive experience across employee relations, organisational change, reward, talent management, and large-scale workforce leadership. She is also a UK founding member of Chief, a global private network supporting women executives in leadership.
