Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, August 2025 – Jens Michel has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Food Hub (KEZAD). This appointment underlines the Hub’s commitment to strengthening food security, resilience, and innovation across the food sector in the UAE and beyond. In his new role, Jens will lead the integrated trade and logistics ecosystem, driving forward growth, sustainability, and digital transformation for food distribution and supply chain networks.
Before joining Abu Dhabi Food Hub, Jens served as Group Chief Executive Officer at Classic Fine Foods, where he led operations across Asia, the Middle East, and the UK for more than three years. He played a key role in expanding the company’s premium delicatessen portfolio, which included over 15,000 customers across multiple countries, and reinforced pillars of quality, sustainability, and traceability in sourcing and distribution.
Earlier, he held leadership positions at METRO Wholesale Myanmar Ltd, a subsidiary of Metro AG, where he spent nearly seven years as Chief Executive Officer. In this capacity, Jens was instrumental in advancing scalable food delivery platforms, enhancing supply chain infrastructure, and supporting small and mid-sized independent businesses in transforming their operations with digital tools and sustainable solutions.
Jens has also contributed significantly to the regional business community through board leadership roles, including President of the German Myanmar Business Chamber (GMBC) and Vice Chairman of EuroCham Myanmar, strengthening partnerships between European and Asian markets.
Previously, Jens served as Executive Vice President APAC/MEA at Stratpharma, where he led regional growth strategies in specialty dermatology, and as Chief Executive Officer of YPB Group Ltd, an ASX-listed pioneer in advanced brand protection solutions. His career also includes senior leadership positions in the medical devices and wholesale distribution sectors at Convatec, DKSH, and Fairmont Medical Products, where he delivered business expansion across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
Jens began his leadership career in Australia with GMS Medical and went on to establish himself as a results-driven leader in multinational settings, with a proven record of strengthening supply chains, customer solutions, digitalization, and governance across diverse industries. His global career spans over two decades across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East, giving him deep expertise in building scalable, sustainable, and innovative business ecosystems.
