Kansas City, Missouri, United States, September 2024 – Jessica Sharpsteen has started a new position as Vice President of People at Chicken N Pickle, effective August 2024. In this role, Sharpsteen will oversee the company’s people strategy, focusing on enhancing employee experience and driving talent development initiatives across the organization.

Jessica Sharpsteen has recently transitioned to the role of Vice President of People at Chicken N Pickle, where she will lead people management strategies and employee engagement efforts. She has been with the company since August 2024, marking a new chapter in her career.

Prior to this, Sharpsteen served as Director of Human Resources, Training, and Recruiting at Chicken N Pickle for approximately 2 years and 6 months. In this role, she was instrumental in overseeing HR functions, training programs, and recruitment efforts.

Before joining Chicken N Pickle, Sharpsteen worked at Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. for about 2 years and 3 months. She held the position of Director of Portfolio Management for 1 year and 6 months and Director of Field Marketing for 10 months. Her tenure at Dickey’s also included roles as Operations Manager and HR Manager, where she gained extensive experience in operational management and human resources.

Sharpsteen began her career at Weaver as an HR Assistant for about 1 year and 6 months, and previously worked at The Umstead Hotel and Spa and Marco Beach Ocean Resort in various roles, including Reservation Sales Agent and Executive Assistant, gaining valuable industry experience.

About Chicken N Pickle:

Chicken N Pickle is a distinctive indoor/outdoor entertainment complex that combines a chef-driven restaurant and sports bar with pickleball courts, ping pong, and various yard games. The venue is known for its lively atmosphere, local craft beers, and community-focused culture. It also offers spaces for events, team-building, and family gatherings. Since its inception in 2017, Chicken N Pickle has expanded to several locations and has received numerous accolades, including the Entrepreneur Award and recognition as a top family entertainment destination.

Matthew Breitfelder is Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, where he focuses on attracting extraordinary talent to the firm and creating an innovative, inclusive, high-performance culture that brings out the best in Apollo’s people. Matt leads Apollo’s recruiting, talent management, compensation, succession planning, citizenship, employee relations, development, and culture work. He is also a member of the firm’s Leadership Team. Matt is committed to expanding opportunities across Apollo’s workplace, marketplace, and communities. Prior to joining Apollo, Matt was Chief Talent Officer at BlackRock as well as a member of the Operating Committee. Previously, he held strategy, talent, and innovation roles at Mastercard, PwC, and CEB/Gartner.

Matt holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He currently serves on the boards of the Lumina Foundation, the Aspen Institute’s Business and Society program, the Milken Institute’s Inclusive Capitalism initiative, and Georgetown University’s initiative on AI, Analytics, and the Future of Work. He is the co-author of numerous Harvard Business School case studies and articles on leadership. Matt has been recognized as a Top Global CHRO multiple times by n2Growth and Stanford Business School.
