Kolkata, West Bengal, India, February 2026 — JMS Mining Pvt Ltd has appointed Ashish Gupta as Head of Talent Acquisition, effective November 2025.
In his new role, Gupta will lead the company’s talent acquisition strategy, strengthening workforce planning and recruitment capabilities to support large-scale underground coal mining operations and advanced mass production technologies. His mandate includes building a robust talent pipeline aligned with JMS Mining’s operational expansion and technical excellence.
Prior to joining JMS Mining Pvt Ltd, Gupta served as Chief Manager – Talent Acquisition at Sterlite, where he led recruitment for technical and support functions across multiple brownfield and greenfield projects, including power cable and solar cable manufacturing operations. He played a key role in aligning hiring strategies with business expansion goals.
Earlier, he was Deputy Manager – Talent Acquisition at Adani Enterprises Limited, spearheading hiring for the Natural Resources vertical, particularly across cement plants and coal mining operations. He developed cost-optimized hiring strategies while strengthening stakeholder collaboration and workforce planning.
Gupta also held talent acquisition leadership roles at AECOM, managing recruitment for major engineering initiatives including Smart Cities projects and the Yamuna Action Plan. Prior to that, he worked with IPE Global Limited, leading recruitment and project staffing across urban, infrastructure, and engineering assignments for government clients and international donors.
He began his HR career at Shah Technical Consultant Pvt Ltd, where he managed HR operations for large-scale urban development projects, strengthening workforce efficiency and compliance practices.
With over 15 years of experience across infrastructure, mining, engineering, and industrial sectors, Gupta brings strong expertise in strategic talent acquisition, campus recruitment, employer branding, stakeholder management, and workforce planning.
