New York, United States, – November 2024 – Mote has appointed Joan Dunlap as its new Chief Financial Officer, where she will be instrumental in driving financial strategy to support Mote’s mission of carbon removal and clean hydrogen production through innovative solutions.
Prior to joining Mote, Joan was a Senior Advisor at Milagros Advisors, where she advised private equity firms on growth projects and managed investments in advanced technology fields such as data and AI to enhance ROI. Her strategic oversight spanned key areas such as project management and investment decisions.
Before that, she served as an Associate Director at Princeton University, where she led data-intensive projects, employing algorithmic simulations and analytics to support equitable decision-making. This role underscored her ability to combine financial insight with advanced data applications, further aligning with Mote’s data-driven approach.
Earlier in her career, Joan was Vice President of Strategy & Investor Relations at Laredo Energy, where she successfully guided the company through a corporate turnaround, increasing its valuation significantly. At Bloomberg Philanthropies, she held the role of Executive Director of Innovation, where she developed strategic plans and GIS mapping solutions for urban redevelopment. Additionally, as a Co-Founder and Vice President at Petrohawk Energy, she was pivotal in growing the energy startup to a $15 billion enterprise, demonstrating her entrepreneurial acumen.
