New Delhi, Delhi, India, March 2026 – Dr Ajaykumar Sharma has joined Zydus Group as Senior Vice President & Head – Corporate Affairs, strengthening the organization’s leadership as it continues to expand its role in India’s evolving healthcare ecosystem.
In his new role, Dr Sharma will work closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and the broader ecosystem to help shape enabling policy frameworks, strengthen access, and support the development of globally competitive, future-ready healthcare solutions. He highlighted that Zydus stands out as a fully integrated global healthcare platform, uniquely positioned to contribute to India’s healthcare transformation and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Prior to joining Zydus Group, Dr Ajaykumar Sharma served as Director – Corporate and State Affairs at AstraZeneca India, where he played a key role in driving public policy engagement and strengthening government partnerships within the healthcare ecosystem.
Earlier, he held the position of Director of Government Affairs at AstraZeneca, leading strategic initiatives in policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and healthcare policy alignment across India.
He also spent over six years with the Organisation of Pharmaceutical Producers of India (OPPI), where he served in multiple leadership roles including Senior Director and Director – Government, Legal and Regulatory Affairs, contributing significantly to industry advocacy and regulatory frameworks supporting innovation-driven pharmaceutical growth.
Before this, Dr Sharma led the Pharmaceuticals & Lifesciences practice at Frost & Sullivan, delivering strategic consulting assignments across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, helping organizations navigate complex healthcare markets and growth strategies.
Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at 3M and Home Medical Care Company, where he built strong experience in business expansion, general management, and scaling operations across international markets.
Dr Ajaykumar Sharma holds an MBA from SP Jain School of Global Management and has completed a Certificate Program in Intellectual Property Law from George Mason University – Antonin Scalia Law School.
