Bellevue, Washington, United States, July 2026 — T-Mobile US has appointed Chris Sambar as its Chief Enterprise Officer, a newly expanded leadership role that underscores the company’s focus on accelerating enterprise growth, AI-driven innovation, and next-generation connectivity.
Announcing the appointment, Srini Gopalan, Chief Executive Officer of T-Mobile, highlighted the leadership evolution as part of the company’s strategy to unlock new business opportunities, strengthen enterprise offerings, and capitalize on emerging technologies that are reshaping the communications industry.
As Chief Enterprise Officer, Chris will lead T-Mobile’s enterprise business strategy, driving growth across corporate customers while advancing AI-powered solutions, digital transformation, and next-generation connectivity capabilities.
Chris joins T-Mobile after serving as Chief Operating Officer at Public Storage, where he was responsible for leading enterprise operations and supporting the company’s continued operational and strategic growth. During this period, he also served as a Board Member at AST SpaceMobile, contributing to the company’s vision of delivering space-based cellular broadband connectivity.
Before joining Public Storage, Chris built an exceptional 22-year leadership career at AT&T, holding several of the organization’s most senior executive positions.
Most recently, he served as President – Network, overseeing the architecture, engineering, construction, operations, tower strategy, and program management of AT&T’s global network while managing an annual capital and operating budget of approximately US$27 billion.
Earlier, as Executive Vice President, he led the engineering, construction, and operation of AT&T’s global network, directing more than US$20 billion in annual capital deployment to expand and modernize network infrastructure.
As Senior Vice President of FirstNet, Chris led the design, construction, and nationwide deployment of FirstNet, America’s dedicated public safety communications network, a program valued at up to US$100 billion by the U.S. Government.
His leadership journey at AT&T also included serving as Vice President, Corporate Strategy, advising the CEO and executive leadership on corporate strategy, competitive positioning, capital allocation, and industry transformation. He subsequently held operational leadership roles as Vice President & General Manager – South Texas and Virginia & West Virginia, managing large regional businesses with multi-billion-dollar revenue responsibility.
Earlier in his AT&T career, Chris led Learning Services within Human Resources, demonstrating leadership across talent development in addition to commercial, network, and operational functions. He also held senior positions in enterprise sales, sales operations, and network operations, building broad executive expertise across the telecommunications value chain.
Prior to entering the corporate world, Chris served for nearly a decade as a Commander in the United States Navy SEALs, serving with elite special operations units and participating in military operations, including service during the Iraq War.
He holds an MBA from University of Southern California.
