Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, November 2025 — The Wurzak Hotel Group (WHG) has appointed Joann Weber as Vice President, Talent & Culture, marking a significant addition to the hospitality group’s leadership team. With more than 25 years of experience in hospitality HR and people leadership, Joann will drive organisational culture, talent development, employee engagement and workforce capability across WHG’s growing portfolio of premium branded hotels.
In her new role, she partners closely with hotel teams and senior leadership to elevate talent strategies, strengthen leadership pipelines, and build a culture where team members feel supported, valued, and empowered to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Her mandate includes shaping the people function across the organisation to ensure culture remains a strategic differentiator for WHG.
Joann most recently served at GF Hotels & Resorts as Corporate Director of Employee Relations, where she spent more than a year overseeing employee relations, engagement, performance management, and workplace culture across a diverse hospitality portfolio. Her work strengthened compliance, leadership capability, and employee experience across operations in Philadelphia and beyond.
Before GF Hotels & Resorts, she held the role of Senior Director of People and Culture at Showboat Hotel & Island Water Park, where she focused on people strategy, talent retention, and culture building in a large-scale entertainment and hospitality environment. Her tenure enhanced workforce stability and strengthened the employee and guest service connection at the Atlantic City property.
Earlier, Joann led HR at Vision Solar LLC as Vice President, Human Resources, where she guided organisational development and people practices for a fast-growing renewable energy company. Prior to that, she held a long and impactful nine-year tenure with HHM Hotels as VP People Support, contributing significantly to HR strategy and people operations across HHM’s multi-state hotel portfolio.
Joann’s earlier leadership roles include serving as VP Human Resources at SugarHouse Casino and SVP Human Resources at Foxwoods Resort Casino, where she led strategic HR operations, workforce transformation, and organisational capability across large hospitality and gaming enterprises. Her work at Foxwoods positioned her as a key member of the senior executive team responsible for all HR-related functions.
