Bridgewater, New Jersey, United States, May 2024 – John Tomasello is pleased to announce his new role as EVP & Chief Human Resources Officer at Messer Americas. With over two decades of experience in human resources, John brings extensive expertise in HR strategy, business partnering, and organizational transformation to this position. He will lead the HR function and drive strategic initiatives to support Messer Americas’ growth and development.
John’s most recent role was at Stemline Therapeutics, where he served as SVP & Chief Human Resources Officer. Over his nine-month tenure, he led HR initiatives for the biotechnology subsidiary of the Menarini Group, focusing on innovative, transformative therapies in oncology.
Before Stemline Therapeutics, John worked at LEO Pharma, where he spent over six years in various senior HR roles. As VP, HR – North America Region, he was responsible for all HR aspects in North America, including business partnering, culture, and talent management. In his role as VP, HR – Global Commercial Business Partnering, he led the HR function across 60+ countries during a global transformation. Additionally, as VP, HR & Communications, he was the Chief Human Resources Officer for LEO Pharma Inc., overseeing workforce strategy.
John also served as the VP, HR – Global Rare Disease & Global Hospital / International / Global Operations at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals for two years. He was the global HR leader for all lines of business within Mallinckrodt’s Specialty Biopharmaceutical portfolio, including added responsibility for Global Operations.
Additional Experience: John has held significant HR roles in various organizations, including Senior Director, HR – Global BioScience at Baxter International Inc., Senior Director, HR – North America & Australia Consumer Paints / Global Guardsman / Paint Drop at Sherwin-Williams, and Various HR Business Partner & HR Specialist roles at multiple companies, including Novartis Consumer Health and The Wrigley Company. His extensive experience encompasses HR strategy, operations, compensation management, and employee relations.
