Goa, India, July 2025 – Joy Afonso has been appointed as Head – Human Resources, Goa at IFB Industries Ltd, marking a significant new chapter in her distinguished HR leadership career.
Prior to this, Joy served for over 14 years at Vedanta | Sesa Goa Iron Ore, where she held multiple leadership roles including Chief Human Resource Officer – Value Added Business (Pig Iron & Met Coke), Chief People Officer – Iron Ore Goa, and Head HR – South and Central Mines. Across these positions, she played a pivotal role in shaping workforce strategy, driving employee engagement, and strengthening HR governance within Vedanta’s operations in Goa.
Her tenure at Vedanta was marked by continuous advancement and growing responsibility, starting from her role as Associate Manager – HR and culminating in C-suite HR leadership, underscoring her deep domain knowledge and strategic HR acumen in the metals and mining industry.
Joy’s extensive experience in managing end-to-end human resources functions at large-scale industrial operations positions her strongly to lead IFB’s HR initiatives in Goa and support the company’s business growth and talent development agenda.
