Pune, Maharashtra, India, May 2025 — Sham Arora has been appointed as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Tech Mahindra, marking a significant milestone in his distinguished career spanning more than three decades in technology leadership within the BFSI sector. In this role, he will spearhead the company’s technology-driven innovation agenda and strengthen its position as a trusted digital transformation partner globally.
Arora brings with him a wealth of experience, having led large-scale strategic technology initiatives and enterprise transformations at some of the world’s leading financial institutions. Before joining Tech Mahindra, he served for over 22 years at Standard Chartered Bank, where he held various critical roles including CIO & Global Head of Enterprise Technology and Global CIO for Transaction Banking, Payments and Clearing. During his tenure, he championed digital enablement, automation, cloud migrations, and service transformation programs that significantly improved operational resilience and service availability.
Previously, he held senior technology leadership positions at Citi as Senior Vice President and at Stock Holding Corporation of India. He began his career at Tata Energy Research Institute, contributing to research and project management.
As CTO of Tech Mahindra, Arora is expected to lead end-to-end technology programs, drive alignment between innovation and business value creation, and elevate enterprise-wide digital capabilities. His deep expertise in digital transformation, combined with his passion for engineering-led solutions and people leadership, will play a vital role as Tech Mahindra continues to enable global enterprises to modernize and scale rapidly in a digital-first world.
