Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, January 2025 – Karan Parwani has joined Citi India as Senior Vice President – IT Audit. In his new role, Karan will oversee technology audits, ensuring robust IT systems and compliance with regulatory standards. With over two decades of experience in the banking and financial services sector, he brings vast expertise in IT audit and risk management. His efforts will focus on strengthening Citi India’s IT governance and enabling secure, efficient operations.
Before rejoining Citi India, Karan served as Vice President – Technology Audit at MUFG for eight months, where he contributed to enhancing audit processes and ensuring compliance in a technology-driven environment.
Previously, he spent over a decade at Citi India in various roles, including Vice President – IT Audit and Assistant Vice President – IT Audit, where he specialized in systems audit and compliance for nearly 11 years.

Earlier in his career, Karan held the role of AVP – IS Audit at Axis Bank for over a year and served as Associate Vice President – IT Audit at HSBC, focusing on IT risk management and internal audits for almost five years.
His career began with roles at EY, Lehman Brothers, FTIL, and AUDITime Information Systems (I) Ltd, where he gained foundational experience in IT risk management, application audits, and software auditing. He also worked as a Programmer at Rediff.com India Ltd., developing web pages and maintaining backend systems.
