Auckland, New Zealand, November 2025 – Alimetry has announced the appointment of Karen O’Regan as its new Chief Business Officer, marking a significant addition to the company’s executive leadership team as it accelerates its mission to transform global gastrointestinal (GI) diagnostics through non-invasive gastric mapping.
With over 25 years of international leadership experience across technology, healthcare, and retail sectors, Karen brings a unique blend of strategic foresight and commercial acumen. Her career is distinguished by her ability to scale high-growth organizations, forge global partnerships, and translate visionary strategies into measurable results.
In her new role, Karen will oversee Alimetry’s global business strategy, partnerships, and commercial expansion, leveraging her deep expertise in digital innovation and enterprise growth to strengthen the company’s presence in key international markets.
Before joining Alimetry, Karen O’Regan served as Chief Commercial Officer and UK General Manager at Liva Health, a digital therapeutics company specializing in lifestyle and cardiometabolic disease management. During her tenure, she successfully built the company’s commercial strategy, expanded client portfolios across healthcare systems and pharma, and secured key partnerships with organizations such as Boots Online Doctor and FoodFirst Health.
Prior to that, Karen was Chief Commercial Officer and Strategic Advisor at BIOS Health, a Y Combinator–backed MedTech firm pioneering AI-powered neural interfaces to treat chronic diseases. She helped establish the company’s commercial and partnerships framework and led collaborations with major pharma and clinical partners.
She also served as Venture Partner at Selvedge Partners, providing advisory support to deep-tech portfolio companies, and as Strategic Advisor at Sanome, contributing to the design of AI-enabled clinical decision tools integrated with hospital systems.
At Huma, Karen held the role of Chief Operations Officer, scaling the company from Series A to Series C funding rounds, expanding into new client segments and global markets. Under her leadership, Huma became one of Europe’s fastest-growing healthcare technology firms, raising over $180 million and earning recognition from the Financial Times as the Fastest-Growing European HealthTech Company (2021).
Her earlier career at dunnhumby (Tesco Group) spanned nearly a decade, where she served as Chief Commercial Officer & Global Executive Committee Member, Managing Director for Asia and Central Europe, and Board Chair for international joint ventures. She also held senior roles at Best Buy, Selfridges, and Sainsbury’s, leading global commercial partnerships and large-scale retail innovation programs.
In addition, Karen continues to support global ventures as a Beachheads Advisor for New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE), mentoring high-growth New Zealand companies in their international expansion journeys.
