United States, December 2024 – Khadijah (Kay) Johnson-New has been promoted to Vice President, Rewards & Employee Experience at Avangrid. In her new role, Khadijah will oversee the comprehensive employee lifecycle, designing innovative and equitable programs to enhance the employee experience while aligning with organizational objectives. Her portfolio includes onboarding, compensation and benefits, global mobility, policy compliance, and retirement programs, fostering a culture of inclusion, growth, and excellence.
Khadijah has spent over six years at Avangrid, holding pivotal roles that have shaped its HR strategy. Most recently, as Vice President of People Operations & Employee Experience, she championed initiatives in employee engagement, global mobility, HR technology, and compliance. She spearheaded the integration of Workday and led Avangrid to secure multiple external recognitions, including being named a Forbes Best Employer for Diversity.
Prior to Avangrid, Khadijah was the US Talent Acquisition Manager at SGS North America, where she transitioned recruitment operations from an outsourced model to an efficient in-house function. Her efforts significantly improved hiring outcomes, streamlined processes, and fostered strong partnerships with senior leadership to align recruitment with strategic goals.
Khadijah also contributed her expertise at New Enterprise LLC, where she collaborated with small business owners to enhance recruitment initiatives, improve workforce retention, and develop strategic workforce plans. Her innovative approaches, including launching branding campaigns and tailored employee engagement strategies, resulted in notable improvements in employee retention and overall workforce effectiveness.
Earlier in her career, Khadijah held leadership roles at US Bank, where she developed her foundational skills in operations and workforce management. These experiences have equipped her with the expertise to navigate complex challenges and deliver impactful HR solutions.
