Kim Lupo Joins General Motors as Vice President, Total Rewards and Employee Relations

Detroit, Michigan, United States, July 2025 – Kim Lupo has joined General Motors as Vice President, Total Rewards and Employee Relations, marking a significant addition to GM’s HR leadership team. In this critical role, Kim will oversee total rewards strategy, associate relations, and people policies, guiding the company’s continued focus on fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and values-driven culture.

Prior to joining General Motors, Kim Lupo served as Senior Vice President – Global Total Rewards, People Operations/Digital Acceleration, and Global People Partner at Walmart, where she led large-scale transformation initiatives across compensation, benefits, HR technology, and global operations for nearly four years. Her leadership was instrumental in accelerating Walmart’s people-first digital strategy and enhancing global employee experience.

Before Walmart, Kim held several senior HR leadership roles at Nike, including Vice President – Global Total Rewards, Operations & People Analytics, where she led the strategy for global compensation, benefits, mobility, and HR analytics. During her six-year tenure, she was key to modernizing Nike’s people analytics infrastructure and aligning rewards to business outcomes.

Earlier, she spent over eight years with T-Mobile, where she served as Vice President – Total Compensation, and previously Senior Director – Executive & Enterprise Compensation, overseeing executive pay strategy, long-term incentive design, and enterprise-wide employee rewards programs. She also held executive compensation responsibilities at Southern Company, gaining strong experience in governance, disclosure, and incentive design.

With more than two decades of experience across Fortune 100 companies, Kim brings deep expertise in aligning people and business strategies, building high-impact rewards systems, and championing employee engagement in high-growth environments.
