Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, November 2025 — Walmart has announced the elevation of Kushal Bhat to Director – People Strategy, marking a key milestone in his career and reinforcing the organization’s focus on advancing people-first initiatives that enable innovation, inclusion, and growth. With more than a decade of rich experience in human resources, people strategy, organizational design, and diversity & inclusion, Kushal brings a strong foundation of business partnership and strategic leadership to his new role.
Kushal joined Walmart in early 2024 as Senior People Partner, supporting business strategy through talent alignment, leadership development, and culture building. His efforts have been instrumental in strengthening organizational agility and designing frameworks that enhance employee engagement, performance management, and succession planning.
Before joining Walmart, Kushal served as Director – Human Resources for Engineering, Product & Data at Razorpay, where he led the people function for key business units, driving initiatives across workforce strategy, performance enablement, and organizational effectiveness. His leadership contributed to scaling high-growth teams while maintaining a culture of collaboration and continuous development.
Earlier, at Flipkart, Kushal played a crucial role in people operations for Myntra’s Engineering, Product, and Data Science teams, serving as Deputy Director – HRBP and previously as HRBP for Supply Chain Engineering & Product. His contributions included designing Myntra’s performance management philosophy, leading the LGBTIQ+ Employee Resource Group (Colours Collective), and executing key D&I initiatives, including pay and promotion parity studies and organizational synergy programs post-acquisitions.
Before his tenure at Flipkart, Kushal held HR leadership positions at Acko, Bayer, and Snapdeal, where he built a reputation for driving progressive HR policies and leading transformative initiatives in employee experience, HR technology, and inclusion. Starting his career at Cognizant, Kushal gained early exposure to leadership development and cross-functional collaboration — experiences that shaped his people-centric management approach.
As Director – People Strategy at Walmart, Kushal will focus on aligning talent strategy with organizational priorities, strengthening leadership pipelines, and enhancing Walmart’s people practices to continue building a culture of inclusion, innovation, and excellence.
