Island Grill, a prominent player in the Jamaican fast-food sector, is excited to announce the appointment of Larene Thompson as its new Chief Learning and Development Officer. This role commenced in January 2024 and marks a significant step in Thompson’s illustrious career, which spans over a decade in learning and development across various industries.
Prior to joining Island Grill, Thompson served at Grupo Unicomer, where she held the position of Regional Learning and Development Consultant from April 2022 to April 2024. In this role, she was instrumental in creating development programs that enhanced interpersonal communication skills and managed the regional Learning Management System. Her tenure at Grupo Unicomer was preceded by her role as a Regional Learning Management System Administrator, demonstrating her proficiency in integrating technology with learning processes.
Before her impactful contributions at Grupo Unicomer, Larene Thompson worked at Digicel Group as a Telesales Agent from May 2015 to May 2020, where she honed her customer service and sales skills, laying a solid foundation for her later roles in learning and development.
