Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, April 2025 – Lauren Waelend has been appointed as Interim Head of People Operations at Benetas, one of Victoria’s leading providers of aged and community care services. In this role, she will oversee people strategy and HR operations across the organization’s aged care homes, independent living, and community services.
Prior to joining Benetas, Lauren Waelend served as General Manager, People & Culture at Australian Golf Services, a joint venture between Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia, where she led cultural transformation, HR policy implementation, and strategic HR initiatives for nearly two years.
Before that, she held concurrent roles as General Manager, People and Culture at both Golf Australia and PGA of Australia, with a combined tenure of over two years. Her leadership in these roles focused on comprehensive oversight of people and culture strategies, HR systems implementation, and employee engagement during a period of organizational evolution.
Earlier, Lauren held senior roles at Healthscope, TLC Healthcare, Regis Aged Care, and Alfred Health, bringing deep experience in employee engagement, learning and development, and workforce planning across the healthcare sector. She also spent over four years with Lockheed Martin Australia as HR Business Partner Asia Pacific and HR Operations Manager, shaping regional HR strategies and partnering with global teams.
Lauren began her HR journey with roles at Jewell Consulting, Cockram Construction, and ANZ, including as Graduate Program Manager and Human Resources Consultant, where she focused on talent management, leadership development, and organizational realignment projects. Her early international stint with Royal Bank of Scotland in London as Human Resources Analyst further strengthened her HR analytics and process improvement capabilities.
