Geneva, Switzerland, July 2025 – Laurence Buyssens Gentile has taken on a new role as Vice President Human Resources Switzerland at dsm-firmenich, marking a significant step in her longstanding journey with the organization. In this capacity, she will focus on delivering a unified employee experience by implementing global HR strategies and culture transformation initiatives across the Swiss workforce.
Over the past year at dsm-firmenich, Laurence served as Head Country Learning & Engagement, Talent Acquisition Switzerland, where she led the development of a new global talent acquisition model and spearheaded employee engagement projects centered on diversity and inclusion. Her efforts were key to fostering a vibrant and inclusive culture during the post-merger integration of the company.
Prior to that, she spent nearly two years as Senior Director Human Resources LAM, overseeing HR operations across Latin America. Based in Brazil, she led retention and development initiatives in the perfumery division, drove strategic D&I communications, and was an active member of the region’s leadership committee, managing the HR teams across four countries.
Her earlier roles at Firmenich spanned more than two decades, where she held multiple leadership positions including Human Resources Director in Brazil and Geneva, Associate HR Director, and Training Manager. Across these roles, Laurence successfully executed plant capability programs, organizational restructurings, learning strategies, and change management efforts in global projects such as SAP deployments and performance transformation programs.
Before joining Firmenich, Laurence built her early career at FedEx, spending over 12 years in various HR, training, quality, and customer care roles across Belgium, Switzerland, and France. Her time there included responsibilities as Finance Project Advisor, Senior Quality Administrator, and Training Manager, where she led pan-European initiatives on quality management and talent development.
