Los Angeles, California, United States, January 2026 — Kelly Spicers has appointed Lawrence Covitt as Vice President of Human Resources, strengthening its people leadership as the company continues to advance its multi-state distribution business across the Western U.S. In this role, Lawrence is leading the HR function for a workforce of 700+ employees, partnering closely with the President and executive team to align people strategy with business growth and operational priorities.
In his new mandate, Lawrence Covitt oversees talent management, compensation and benefits, labor relations, employee relations, compliance, and HR systems, while fostering a high-performance, inclusive culture across sales, warehouse, and corporate teams.
Before joining Kelly Spicers, Lawrence Covitt served for over three years as Senior Vice President of Talent & HR at STARK, where he drove enterprise-wide performance and culture initiatives across a global workforce spanning North America, EMEA, and APAC. His work included implementing a comprehensive performance management system that supported a culture of meritocracy, strengthening engagement programs measured through tNPS, advancing DEI initiatives, and building structured coaching and talent-development programs to expand leadership pipelines.
Prior to STARK, Lawrence spent close to three years as Vice President of HR & Administration at Great Performances, advising executive leadership while shaping recruiting, leadership development, corporate culture, and employee engagement initiatives. In this role, he also focused on strengthening HR programs and building team capability through mentoring and training across organizational levels.
Earlier in his career, he worked for nearly five years as COO at Sonnier & Castle, overseeing operations as well as human resources, finance, and marketing, with accountability for strategic planning and financial performance. He also held a contract leadership role at Hanover Direct, where he led elements of retail strategy, portfolio expansion planning, and omni-channel experience initiatives.
Lawrence built a strong foundation over nearly 18 years at Bloomingdale’s, progressing through multiple leadership roles culminating in Multi-Store Manager: Operations & Finance, where he managed P&L analytics, expense planning, sales delivery, and team development—experience that continues to inform his people and operational leadership approach.
Alongside his corporate leadership, Lawrence has maintained a long-standing commitment to learning and industry advisory work.
