With over two decades of leadership experience in the insurance sector, Rajat brings a strong record of driving growth, building high-performing teams, and developing customer-focused distribution models. His appointment aligns with Aviva’s commitment to scaling its proprietary channels while keeping customer needs at the heart of its business.

Commenting on the appointment, Asit Rath, MD & CEO of Aviva Life Insurance India, said, “Rajat’s deep distribution expertise and leadership experience will be instrumental in accelerating Aviva’s growth journey as we continue to build strong, customer-centric distribution ecosystems.”

Prior to joining Aviva, Rajat Srivastava spent over 19 years at Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Ltd, where he rose to the position of Executive Vice President – Sales & Distribution. In this role, he led a network of over 21,000 life advisors, 1,200 employees, and 600 variable recruiters across 15 states, achieving strong performance on key metrics including premium growth, persistency, and profitability. He was also responsible for strategic initiatives such as developing variable agency models, expanding zonal business operations, and forging corporate partnerships for employee solutions.

During his tenure at Kotak Life, Rajat also served as Vice President (Zonal Head – Corporate Agency & Broking) and Vice President (Zonal Head – Agency, East). He successfully strengthened revenue streams through corporate agents, brokers, and NBFC partnerships, while leading teams across India to deliver sustainable business growth. Earlier in his career, Rajat was part of ICICI Prudential Life Insurance Company Limited as Area Manager, where he contributed to expanding the company’s footprint and driving sales growth in key regions. He began his professional journey with Sharp India Ltd and Mass Spine & Body Care Ltd, where he gained early experience in sales, distribution, and people management.

At Aviva, Rajat will focus on empowering advisors, developing digital-first direct channels, and building high-growth proprietary distribution strategies to strengthen the company’s leadership position in India’s life insurance market.
