London, United Kingdom, December 2025 – Leandro Barreto has been appointed as Chief Marketing Officer at Unilever, effective January 1, while continuing in his current role as CMO, Beauty & Wellbeing. The appointment forms part of the next phase of Unilever’s marketing transformation, bringing global marketing capabilities closer to its business groups to drive faster execution and impact.
In his current leadership charter at Unilever, Leandro Barreto serves as CMO, Beauty & Wellbeing, where he owns the global P&L for Unilever’s Beauty core portfolio across more than 60 markets. He has led data-driven growth strategies, premiumisation initiatives, foresight-led innovation programs, and global digital transformation agendas across iconic brands including Dove, Vaseline, TRESemme, Sunsilk, Clear, Ponds, and Nexxus. His leadership has been recognised through multiple Cannes Lions Grand Prix and Titanium awards for breakthrough creative excellence and measurable business impact.
Previously, Barreto served as Senior Vice President – Global Dove Masterbrand & Skin Care, leading the evolution of Dove’s purpose-driven brand platform into globally resonant digital and cultural movements, driving innovation-led profit expansion and creative excellence.
Earlier in his career, he held the role of Vice President – Global Marketing, Skin Cleansing & Baby Care, where he defined global growth strategies for billion-dollar portfolios, strengthened customer marketing collaboration, and drove digital commerce and analytics-led marketing transformation.
Alongside his corporate leadership, Barreto has also co-founded wellness and purpose-led brand ventures, building scalable innovation pipelines that were later integrated into Unilever’s brand incubation framework.
