Athens, Alabama, United States, June 2024 – Leslie Michel McAllister has joined Athens State University as the new Assistant Director of Human Resources. In this role, Leslie will contribute to shaping and implementing HR strategies that support the university’s mission and enhance the work environment for faculty, staff, and students.
Leslie brings a wealth of experience in human resources and operations to Athens State University. Before joining Athens State University, Leslie served as a Sr. Human Resource Representative at Federal-Mogul Powertrain and Tenneco from August 2010 to May 2024. In this role, Leslie was responsible for various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. Leslie’s tenure at Tenneco and Federal-Mogul Powertrain showcased a consistent commitment to enhancing HR processes and supporting organizational growth.
Earlier in their career, Leslie worked at Steelcase from December 1985 to February 2009. Initially starting as an HR Generalist, Leslie later transitioned to the role of Operations Engineer. This extensive experience provided Leslie with a broad perspective on HR management and operational efficiency, contributing to a well-rounded skill set that will benefit Athens State University.
