London, United Kingdom – November 2024 – Lyon Botha has been appointed as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Vertus Group, encompassing Vertus Capital and Vertus Alliance. In his new role, Lyon will oversee financial strategy, operations, and growth initiatives, supporting the group’s mission to provide tailored growth and M&A capital solutions to mid-market UK IFAs.
Lyon brings a wealth of experience to Vertus Group, having most recently served as a Strategy Consultant & Outsourced COO & CFO at Three Anchor Advisory Ltd, where he specialized in strategic business reviews, acquisition due diligence, and providing operational and financial direction for organizations.
Prior to this, Lyon was the Chief Executive Officer at Skybound Wealth Management, where he led the company’s transformation into a leading international financial advisory group with over $1 billion in assets under advice. During his tenure, he also served as CFO, driving financial strategy and operational excellence across multiple global offices.
Lyon’s extensive experience includes his role as Senior Investment Manager at Skybound Capital Group, where he managed a diverse portfolio of fintech businesses, and as a Financial Analyst in private debt, overseeing credit analysis and investment monitoring. His earlier career includes senior roles at companies like Amdec Group, where he managed financial operations for property development, and Leaf Capital Property Fund, where he was instrumental in financial planning and strategic reviews.
