With a rich and diverse career spanning over 25 years, Manoj brings to Airtel a unique blend of deep domain expertise, cross-industry leadership, and proven transformation capabilities across banking, telecommunications, and global logistics.
Prior to joining Airtel, Manoj served as Chief Technology Officer at Bandhan Bank, where he led key digital modernization programs and was instrumental in reshaping the bank’s technology landscape for scalable growth. His transformative leadership helped Bandhan Bank strengthen its digital core and deliver enhanced service experiences to customers.
Before his tenure at Bandhan, Manoj had a distinguished 10-year career at Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he rose through the ranks to become Executive Vice President – IT. In this role, he drove the bank’s enterprise-wide technology strategy, oversaw mission-critical platforms, and led the modernization of digital infrastructure in alignment with evolving regulatory and customer needs.
Earlier in his career, he held key leadership positions at Kotak Life, A.P. Moller – Maersk, P&O Nedlloyd, and Stock Holding Corporation of India, gaining deep operational exposure and building resilient IT systems across industries. His extensive experience in managing enterprise IT, coupled with a strong understanding of business operations, makes him uniquely positioned to lead Airtel’s telecom IT vision.
As CIO – Telecom, Manoj will spearhead initiatives to scale the company’s technology backbone for services such as 5G, IoT, AI-powered platforms, and Airtel Black, with a focus on innovation, speed, and sustainability. His leadership is expected to further align Airtel’s IT transformation with the government’s Digital India mission and the company’s vision of a future-ready telecom ecosystem.
Manoj holds a Master’s in Financial Management (MFM) from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, and a BE (Hons) in Instrumentation from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani.
