Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States, June 2024 – Marcus Baker has joined Waggoner Engineering as the new Chief People Officer. With a distinguished career in human resources and a proven track record in HR technology and operations, Marcus brings valuable expertise to Waggoner Engineering, aiming to enhance the organization’s human capital management and overall employee experience.
Before joining Waggoner Engineering, Marcus served as the Director, People Shared Services at Rivian for approximately 1 year. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing people operations planning and strategy, ensuring the seamless execution of HR processes. Prior to this, he was the Sr. Manager, People Operations Planning & Strategy at Rivian for approximately 2 years and 7 months, where he played a key role in optimizing HR business processes and enabling real-time insights across the organization.
Marcus also held the position of Total Rewards Operations Manager at Adobe for approximately 4 months. His responsibilities included managing total rewards operations and implementing strategic HR initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Marcus was the Leader, Human Capital Management Technology at CGB Enterprises, Inc. for approximately 4 years and 6 months. He managed all HR technology and operations, developed a new team within HR, and led a vendor evaluation and selection process that resulted in significant cost savings.
Marcus’s tenure at Adobe also included roles such as Program Manager, HR Operations for approximately 8 months and Consultant, Office of People & Places for approximately 1 year and 11 months. In these roles, he was responsible for managing large cross-functional projects, system implementations, and executive-level reporting.
