New York, United States, March 2025 – Margaret Clarkson has been appointed as Director, People Development & Workforce Planning at Weill Cornell Medicine. In this role, she will lead all talent development initiatives, fostering leadership growth and workforce planning to support the institution’s strategic objectives.
Clarkson has been an integral part of Weill Cornell Medicine for nearly three years. Before stepping into her new role, she served as Director of Learning and Development, where she spearheaded leadership programs, enhanced the culture of learning, and innovated the learner experience to create accessible professional development opportunities for employees.
Prior to Weill Cornell Medicine, Clarkson was the Founder and CEO of Margaret Clarkson Coaching & Consulting LLC. She provided expertise in learning and leadership development strategies, coaching, and instructional design. She also served as Director, Leadership Development at Coqual (formerly Center for Talent Innovation), where she led diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) learning initiatives and leadership development programs.
Earlier in her career, Clarkson spent seven years at Marsh McLennan as Vice President and Director of Talent, Learning, and Diversity. She led award-winning global executive development programs, launched high-potential leadership initiatives, and drove talent strategy to enhance succession planning and employee engagement. She also worked with The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) for eight years, managing global training, leadership, and organizational development programs.
Clarkson began her career at HSBC, where she designed and delivered training programs for over 5,000 employees. She specialized in leadership development, customer service training, and post-merger transition programs that enhanced operational efficiency.
Clarkson holds an MBA in Marketing from The Wharton School.
